Introduction Beautiful, Buttery Yellow Flower that brighten up your day! Fast Growing Flowering Shrub Plant 4 feet apart for great hedge! Very Easy to maintain! Never Bareroot... All plants come rooted into a container with soil. Description The Lynwood Gold Forsythia is a very fast growing flowering shrub that introduces the beginning of spring with beautiful yellow bell shaped flowers. This bush maintains an upright growing habit with gracefully arching branches that contain alternating green leaves in the summer. Fall and winter will tint the foliage to a dark purple with the return of cold weather. The Forsythia will develop to mature height of 8- 10 and 10-12 wide. The Forsythia will be a great addition to any landscape! Looking for a fast growing hedge? This is the flowering shrub you. With beautiful yellow flowers every spring and growing an average of 2 per year, this shrub really is the best fast growing hedge or property border. If you are planning to use as a hedge, plant the forsythia about 4-6 apart. Not only does this shrub look great in a mass planting or hedge barrier, but it is also very graceful as a lone specimen. How To Care The Lynwood Gold Forsythia is an easy to grow shrub that is drought, deer, pollution, and salt tolerant. It rarely has problems with pests and diseases. Plant in full to part sun. This shrub is very adaptable to soil conditions. Water deeply 1 - 2 times per week when newly planted. Once established, watering is only needed in periods of severe drought. Fertilize once per year in spring to promote the brightest colored flowers. Use a balanced, slow release fertilizer, like the one we carry. Prune after blooming is over to control size and shape. It is important to prune right after flowers have bloomed because flowers form on old wood. You can cut back old growth as far back as 4 inches to the ground. Landscape Ideas Not only does this shrub look great in a mass planting, hedge, or border, it is also very graceful as a lone specimen or focal plant. Please 4 feet apart for a nice hedge. Use for its rich, sunny color and unique, upright habit in a cottage garden or mixed bed. For additional options, be sure to check out our Forsythia collection.
